                            Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church Scholarship Fund

Dear Applicant:

 

Thank you for your interest in the TMBC Scholarship Fund.  The scholarship fund provides SUPPLEMENTARY ASSISTANCE TO UNDERGRADUATES ONLY.  Funds are awarded to TMBC members and a percentage of non-members when family funds, grants, loans, fellowships and all other sources have been exhausted.  In addition to applying for this scholarship, applicants are encouraged to seek scholarships from other sources such as colleges/universities, Greek letter organizations, and community resources.

 

Please read the following guidelines before completing the attached application: Keep this page for future reference and to serve as a checklist for application submission.

 

Guidelines

 

1. Applicant(s) must be accepted into a College/University prior to applying for the TMBC scholarship.
2. Scholarship applications for the fall semester must be submitted by the 1^st Saturday of June and by the 1^st Saturday of November for the winter semester. No applications will be processed during the months of July and August.
3. Application for Federal Financial Aid should be completed prior to applying for a TMBC scholarship.
4. Scholarship and fund disbursement will be based on financial need, fund availability, total number of applicants, and academic progress.
5. Applicant(s) can receive a maximum of four (4) scholarships during their collegiate career from the TMBC scholarship fund.
6. A personal interview is required as part of the application process.
7. Applicants are asked to bring additional forms not already submitted in their completed application (i.e. acceptance letter, documentation of additional secured funds, transcripts, and portfolio) to the personal interview.

 

 Your Completed Application Packet must include:

 

1. ___  Proof of acceptance/ verification of current academic enrollment
2. ___  The application for scholarship (pages 1-3)
3. ___  Current Transcript
4. ___  Current FAFSA award notification and/or parent’s current 1040 form
5. ___  Copies of other scholarships, awards, additional funds or grants
6. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
