SCHOLARSHIP MINISTRY – distributes funds to qualified applicants who are in need of financial assistance for undergraduate, trade or a skilled training program. Our responsibilities also include raising funds to be able to continuously provide financial support to our youth

Scholarship Fund Guidelines

Dear Applicant:

 

Thank you for your interest in the TMBC Scholarship Fund.  The scholarship fund provides SUPPLEMENTARY ASSISTANCE TO UNDERGRADUATES ONLY.  Funds are awarded to TMBC members and a percentage of non-members when family funds, grants, loans, fellowships and all other sources have been exhausted.  In addition to applying for this scholarship, applicants are encouraged to seek scholarships from other sources such as colleges/universities, Greek letter organizations, and community resources.

  1. Applicant(s) must be accepted into a College/University prior to applying for the TMBC scholarship.
  2. Applications for the fall semester must be submitted by the 1st Saturday of June; and by the 1st Saturday of November for the winter semester. No applications will be processed during the months of July, August and December.
  3. Application for Federal Financial Aid should be completed prior to applying for a TMBC scholarship.
  4. Scholarship and fund disbursement will be based on financial need, fund availability, total number of applicants, academic progress.
  5. Member applicant(s) can receive a maximum of four (4) scholarships during their collegiate career from the TMBC scholarship fund. Non church member applicants can receive a maximum of two (2) scholarships during their collegiate career from the TMBC scholarship fund.
  6. A personal interview is required as part of the application process.
  7. Prior to the personal interview, applicants are asked bring all pertinent information, documents, or letters with them as it relates to their application (i.e. acceptance letter, documentation of additional secured funds, transcripts, and portfolio)
  8. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE NOT BE CONSIDERED
  9. A completed application, FAFSA form, other scholarship award notifications and a transcript must be mailed to:
