Comfort and Care Ministry

COMFORT AND CARE MINISTRY – provides comfort and care for those experiencing any type of loss, especially bereavement.  No special training is required, only a compassionate heart and sincere desire to minister.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. [II Corinthians 1: 3-4, NKJV]

Mission Statement:  To comfort those who are suffering and to train and equip others to promote healing and comfort for those who have experienced loss.

 Goals:

  • To provide avenues to comfort, encourage, strengthen, and promote healing for those experiencing loss.
  • To surround them with caring Christians within the church and to provide avenues to connect with a group fellowship and/or bible study.
  • To  train others within the church how to comfort those suffering from loss
  • To train, equip, and provide resources for the Deacons’ groups and Deaconesses within the church to promote healing in a healthy manner.
  • To reach out, come alongside, and be of practical help where possible.
  • To offer prayer and a godly perspective when appropriate.

In December, the Comfort and Care Ministry hosts a Precious Memories Service to offer support and comfort to the bereaved during the holiday season as they commemorate the lives of their loved ones.   It is designed to help the bereaved look forward with hope and encouragement.

The Comfort and Care Ministry was formed in the fall of 2008 under Pastor Nathan Johnson.  This ministry was initiated by Group 15, The Good Effort Club, in an effort to provide a ministry of support for bereaved and suffering individuals.
