PART-TIME CUSTODIAN

Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church (TMBC) is seeking a high energy and flexible individual to perform routine work to maintain the appearance, cleanliness and hygiene of TMBC’s two (2) campuses. This position may be assigned to work day or evening schedules as needed to facilitate servicing church activities. TMBC operates seven days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleaning various church areas as assigned, including restrooms.
    • Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
    • Cleaning Mirrors, Doors, Walls and Mirrors, sanitizing toilets
    • Replacing Hand Towels and Toilet Paper. Remove Trash.
  • Support Banquet Center/Fellowship Hall, Educational Wing and Annex Events
    • Set Up and Break Down rooms with appropriate resources and equipment as requested per event.
    • Mopping Kitchen and Various Rooms
    • Removal of Trash
    • Periodically Buff, strip and/or wax floors
  • Exterior Services
    • Shovel walkways as needed
    • Remove garbage from exterior cans
    • Pick up debris from lawn, flower beds and parking areas
  • Maintain safety standards in the performance of work responsibilities
    • Participate in training as required to update skills and/or abilities to use appropriate equipment.
  • Engage professionally with congregation, visitors and co-workers
  • Performs Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Completed the ninth (9th) grade
  • Six months experience general cleaning of buildings and grounds preferred
  • Must be able to lift and carry 65 pounds

Successful candidates also possess the following key skills and abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to operate cleaning and grass-cutting machinery
  • Has ability to climb ladders
  • Demonstrated effective level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-Starter
  • Effective team player
